"Reads like good television!"
Flap Doodel has a big problem. A girl he really likes has been
kidnapped. None of the authorities will lift a finger to help. Flappy
is the kind of guy who would do anything to aid someone in trouble.
But this time, a wrong decision could be fatal.
Here’s What People Are Saying...
"A fun book, very imaginative and fast-paced. A
creative world with truly interesting characters. The words
convey imagery very vividly,
making it easy to see in my mind’s eye what’s going on. It’s
very engaging! Some of the jokes made me nearly drop the book in
laughter. Truly great work!"
James K., computer instructor/artist
"A good blend of present reality and futuristic fantasy, with elements
of great theatre. There
is wordplay throughout the story, and a good flow of
action. I want to see this
incorporated into a public school reader. A classic!"
- E.A. and Adrienne D. Harris
"The hero learns from his mistakes, saves the maiden,
reinforces healthy habits, and prepares for another adventure.
I’m sure
I join the literate and the young at heart in cheering the arrival of
the next Flap Doodel caper.
It reads like good television!"
- Ron Bartunek, child psychologist
"A nicely designed package that really invites a reader in."
- Howard Cruse, artist/author
Flap Doodel is a great book, and I highly
recommend it to anyone interested in good, solid storytelling.
It’s a lot like the H. Potter books in that the emphasis is on the
story, and not a lot of huffy-puff-junior-grade-poli-sci stuff.
It’s just fun
characters put in a cool situation and allowed to run before the book
stops them. Hello, sequels...?
It’s the most FUN book I’ve read in several moons."
- Brian S., artist/writer
I have just finished reading this
caper. I enjoyed it very much. I
bought copies for my nieces, who I know will also enjoy it.
I recommend this to for anyone of (almost) any age. Great job! I
am awaiting the sequel.
Let’s just say I like
reading, and
I liked this book."
- Kim S.
"Just Finished
Flap Doodel And The Incredible Kibbll Caper.
It was fantastic. I’m still trying to put how much so into words."
- Brandon G.
A must read for any child - of any age!
It’s a delightful and exciting
reading experience that makes you want to turn the page to find out
what will happen next!"
- Lena Pfeffer, Decorative Wonders
"Cover to cover, this book is fun to read.
From the beginning, I felt like the author really
enjoyed creating Flappy’s universe and its inhabitants.
It gives the whole book a gentle, warm feeling.
It was comforting, as if the
story were being read to me at bedtime.
And like bedtime when I was a kid, I really
had trouble finding a good place for the bookmark and finally going to
sleep.
If you want to get under your blanket with a
flashlight and curl up with an action-packed book for kids, you won’t
be at
all disappointed by what you find here. If, on the other hand,
you’re
looking for something along the lines of Juvenile Literature, you’re in
for
more than just a sweet treat.
There are
some morals within this story for those who want to dig a little deeper.
You’ll find a story that talks about the
importance of kindness toward all people, no matter what they look like
or
where they come from. It deals with real
issues like death and separation, and touches on more common matters
like
bullies and making friends at a new school. Perhaps
most importantly, the author does all of
this without being
pushy and without being dull.
Flap Doodel and The Incredible Kibbll Caper is an
absorbing adventure across space, as well as a handful of morals to
remember,
but most importantly, this is simply a book that you and your kids,
your
parents, aunts, uncles, second cousins, and maybe even grandpa will
enjoy."
- Sean Mitchell
"I’ve been reading Flap Doodel,
and it
officially has landed in my dreams. I had a decidedly Flappy
dream
last night where we were all eating those vegetarian burgers and
talking.. and
Flappy was there, and lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
The book is a fun read, and I’m enjoying it. I think it’s
something I
would read to a younger child so that we could experience it together."
- Nan C.
I thought you’d like to know how much we enjoyed your book.
We read a chapter per night (unless the boys could beg two out of me).
My boys are seven and eight, and they looked forward to Flappy’s
adventure with much excitement. Last night they
requested "Zugarrplum" ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s.
They liked the pictures at the beginning of each chapter.
The
only part we didn’t like was that the book ended. We’re
looking forward to reading Flappy’s next adventure."
Stephen F, DVM
This book was great and I liked the characters and the title
FLAP DOODEL AND THE INCREDIBLE KIBBLL CAPER
I thought it was funny and wicked!
Carson F., age 8
"I liked the book you wrote a lot. My favorite part
was when the kibblls made a trap.
Thank you."
Ethan F, age 7
"It’s Perfect!"
- Joe C.
